From the heart of oriental influence, comes brilliant new, Tokyo based illustrator Shohei Otomo. Bold and intense his artwork has a distinct modern day storytelling mentality.

Shohei’s illustrations, sketched with ballpoint pen, are characterized by sparse use of color, bold lines, high contrast and gritty subjects. Loud and dynamic, Shohei’s artworks are illustrative of Japan’s manga-influenced style of drawing. His work feels traditional in one sense by his stylized lines and subject matter but there’s an underlying darkness and modern day mentality that sets his subject matter apart from what we might expect to see.
